Zenith El Primero Limited Edition
A 38mm case, domed sapphire crystal, a specially-tuned, COSC chronometer-certified El Primero caliber, a slate grey sunburst dial borrowed from a 1960s favorite, and, of course, no date window. Only 25 pieces were made and once they're gone, they're gone.
Working with Zenith's product development team in Le Locle, Switzerland, fashiontourbillon.com has conceived an original reference designed for those enthusiasts seeking purity and excellence in form and function. The 38mm stainless-steel case – the very same as the original A386 from 1969 – is coupled with a slate grey, sunburst dial featuring faceted rhodium hour markers and hands. The dial, borrowed from the mid-60s reference A271, features just two registers and no date, harking back to the simplicity of the period. Powering this limited edition is the El Primero Caliber 4069, individually adjusted and regulated to within COSC chronometer standards for precision. The sapphire crystal is domed, while the high-beat, self-winding chronometer caliber is visible through the caseback. The limited edition is water resistant to five bars and offers every bit of the appeal of a vintage watch, with the security of sapphire crystal and water resistance. Each watch is accompanied by three distinct straps, a full two-year warranty, individual COSC chronometer certificate, and free international shipping.
This Zenith El Primero Original 1969 Limited Edition is all about the details. Notice the crisp brushing on the facade of the lugs and how sharp and wide the case bevels are – a trait found only on the highest quality cases. The 30-minute counter features hash marks at three, six, and nine minutes, a nod to when long distance telephone calls were timed in three minute intervals, and the elegant tachymeter scale on the flange allows the wearer to measure distance over time (or speed), making the Zenith El Primero For fashiontourbillon.com an ideal accessory for vintage motoring. The small winding crown, designed specifically for this model, accompanies the ridged pushers beautifully. The rotor of the in-house chronograph movement, itself engraved as a chronometer, is unique in the Zenith family.
