Bell & Ross Vintage BR V2-94 Steel Heritage Chronograph
Launched in 2018 and inspired by the rare military-timepieces from the second half of the 20th century, the BR V2-94 Stee Heritage is one of Bell & Ross' more interesting pieces of its historically inspired Vintage collection. Featuring a deep black and a matching anodized blue aluminum ring insert for its bezel, the 41mm steel chronograph highlights some of the best traits of the Paris-based watchmaker in a single timepiece. Among these, the watch's original design, aeronautical influence, and sporty execution come together with its cream accents and distinct red line to present a watch that is thoroughly ready for the everyday, and in-effect once again highlight Bell & Ross' adept ability at producing wonderful all-purpose timepieces.
Like all other Vintage BR V2-94 models, the Steel Heritage features a sturdy case shape complete with screw-down chronograph pushers and crown, accompanying guards flanking the latter, and a domed sapphire crystal providing an additional historical charm to the design. A caliber BR-CAL.301 powers the timepiece, the 42-hour power reserve movement based upon the ever-reliable ETA 2894-2.
Notably, the modern Bell & Ross Vintage Collection, and the BR V2-94 design we see here with the Steel Heritage, came as a follow-up to the 2013-launched Bell & Ross BR126 Sport Heritage Chronograph. That watch was notable not only for its own historically influenced charm, but possibly most of all for catching the eye of occasional fashiontourbillon.com Contributor and famed international artist John Mayer and leaving a “lasting impression” on him against all odds. We feel much the same with Steel Heritage, its eye-catching, but still tasteful, black, cream, and steel style keeping our attention, and leaving a lasting impression in a crowded market of vintage-inspired sports chronographs.
This particular Bell & Ross V2-94 Steel Heritage is in overall excellent pre-owned condition, meaning there are very light signs of wear and some small scratches on the case that come with being lived with. The case is crisp with strong lines, a few nicks, and is unpolished in our view. The bracelet is tight with little stretch between the links. During our quality control check, any necessary adjustments are made to ensure the watch is functioning as intended.
Bruno Belamich and Carlos Rosillo founded Bell & Ross in 1992. For a young watchmaking firm, Bell & Ross has achieved international renown in a relatively short period of time, thanks to its smart-looking, design-focused timepieces that reference classic aviation ideals. In fact, the company's most popular watches have bold, square cases inspired by flight instruments. Bell & Ross operates a design studio in Paris and manufactures its watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
